R.I.P. Karl H. Swartz

While running a cleaning/packing marathon in my apartment in preparation for my move back to Memphis next week, I decided I would clean out my beta fish's bowl and give him a happy home for one more week before he had to drudge the long drive.

Unfortunately, while placing him back in the bowl, he slipped out of the net, and landed in a bowl soaking in soapy water in my kitchen sink.

After about ten minutes of distressful decon for my poor beta, I came to the conclusion that after monitoring severe aquatic distress, I needed to humanely flush him down the toilet.

My only comfort is the knowledge that I do not have to worry about his cross country automobile survival.
